President Truong Tan Sang expects IMF consultancy and support to raise Vietnamese income level

(VOVworld) - President Truong Tan Sang has received Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Mitsuhiro Furusawa, in Hanoi.

During their meeting on Thursday, President Sang praised the IMF support for Vietnam’s development and its role as a policy advisor and donor. He called for more IMF support in policy advisory and support in Vietnam’s economic reform and personnel training to help Vietnam lift up from a middle income country status. The Deputy Managing Director asked for more reform in banking and state owned enterprises sectors and pledge more cooperation with Vietnam in financing, human resource development and policy consultation.
