Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung made the statement while meeting with Myanmar’s President Thein Sein on Monday on the sidelines of the 7th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Summit and the 6th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (ACMECS) in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar. The two leaders agreed to boost cooperation in 12 fields of priority as stated in the joint statement on Myanmar-Vietnam cooperation signed in April, 2010. They pledged to work together to implement agreements reached at the 8th meeting of the Vietnam-Myanmar joint committee and raise two-way trade turnover to 500 million USD in 2015. The two sides agreed to cooperate at regional and international forums, especially in the mechanism of sub-region and ASEAN cooperation, boost solidarity and their common voice between ASEAN member countries on important security issues in the region.
