Republicans win control of US House of Representatives
(VOVWORLD) - The US Federal Election Commission said as of 9:00 p.m. on Monday, Republicans had won 219 of the total 435 seats, surpassing the statutory threshold of 218 votes to become the majority in the House of Representatives. Democrats had 210 votes.

Republicans’ success followed their key victories in Nebraska, California and Pennsylvania, capping off an unexpectedly successful election season.
Earlier, Republicans secured control of the US Senate with 52 seats and Donald Trump won the presidential election with 312 electoral votes.
For at least the next two years, they will have total control of the White House, the executive branch, and both houses of Congress, the legislative branch.
The new Congressmen and Senators are scheduled to be sworn in early January 2025. President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in on January 20, 2025.
