(VOVworld) - Russia will not enter a new arms race which some in the West would like to draw it into, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday at a Kremlin meeting on the development of the State Armament Program for 2016-2025.
Putin set October as the deadline for the government to propose a balanced plan for the new State Armament Programme. He said the proposal should reflect in full Russia’s military needs and at the same time be realistic and based on Russia’s financial and economic possibilities.

President Putin said he wants to see proposals for a more efficient use of budget funds and for a clearer set of priorities, noting that there will be no increase in military spending.
