Russia, US may resume bilateral contacts this week
(VOVWORLD) -Bilateral contacts between Russia and the United States may resume this week, said Kirill Dmitriev, special presidential envoy for economic cooperation with foreign countries said on Monday during an interview with Russia’s Channel One.

Dmitriev plays a key role in efforts to normalize relations between Russia and the US. He previously met with senior members of President Donald Trump's administration in Washington from April 3 to 4. He said the talks focused on restoring bilateral relations, including economic cooperation and the resumption of direct flights.
Dmitriev is the first high-ranking Russian official to visit the US since Russia launched its special military operation in Ukraine in 2022. He also took part in the first round of negotiations with the Trump administration in Saudi Arabia in February.
