(VOVworld) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced on Tuesday that Iran and the P5+1group: Russia, China, France, Britain, the US, and Germany have reached an agreement in principle on all key aspects of the final settlement of Iran’s nuclear issue. He added that a document might possibly be signed on Wednesday. According to Lavrov, Moscow played an important role in breaking a deadlock on the last day of negotiations by proposing a “bilateral and multi-phase” approach to different aspects of the issue. The core principle for a final deal is to confirm Iran’s right to uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes  and put its nuclear program under the IAEA’s control in return for the removal of sanctions against Iran.

According to a source in the US mission, Iran and the P5+1 group continue to draft documents summarizing the outcomes of their negotiations, which are expected to be announced by Iran’s chief negotiator Abbas Aragchi and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini on Wednesday.
