Russian State Duma, European Parliament hold first meeting in 11 years

(VOVWORLD) - Russian lawmakers and the European Parliament on Wednesday discussed the conflict in Ukraine and ways to restore economic and trade cooperation between Russia and European countries, according to the State Duma’s International Affairs Committee.

Earlier, the Committee held an online meeting with members of the European Parliament from Austria, Germany, Bulgaria, and Luxembourg, led by Fernand Kartheiser. 
“This is the first meeting between deputies of the European Parliament and the State Duma after an 11-year break,” Chairman of the International Affairs Committee Leonid Slutsky said, adding it signifies a partial thaw in relations between the two.
