The two leaders said the Vietnam-Russia trade volume in the first 9 months, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, reached 4.1 billion USD, up 13%. As a major member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Russia has effectively coordinated with Vietnam in implementing the Vietnam-EEU Free Trade Agreement. Businesses have boosted trade and taken advantage of the agreement’s tax exemption and other preferences.

The two Deputy Prime Minitsters urged Vietnamese and Russian authorities to remove non-tariff barriers and allow more enterprises to export meat and aqua-products to each others’ markets.

The two asked agencies to boost cooperation in economics, trade, science, and technology, and pledged to organize the 23rd working session of the Vietnam-Russia Inter-Governmental Committee once the COVID-19 pandemic is under control.
