(VOVworld) – Saudi army spokesperson Ahmed Asiri said Saudi Arabia is ready to take part in the anti-IS ground campaign in Syria.

According to AFP, General Asiri said if the US-led coalition launches a ground offensive in Syria, Saudi Arabia will contribute actively to the operation. However, he did not say how many troops Saudi Arabia will send to Syria. The United States plans to convene a defense ministers’ meeting in Brussels later this month of countries involved in the IS fight.
