The Party leader addressed a ceremony in Hanoi on Monday to mark the 80th anniversary of the Post and Telecom Sector, the 66th anniversary of the Science and Technology Sector and the 1st Patriotic Emulation Congress.
“Given its advisory and facilitating functions, the Ministry must proactively propose and fine-tune the legal system, mechanisms and policies to motivate innovation and boost digital transformation. Given its state management function, the Ministry must orient and lead the development of key, strategic technologies like semiconductor, AI, biotechnology, new materials, nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, and energy security to serve green and sustainable development,” Mr. Lam said.
The Party chief stressed on a modern, coordinated, and secure national digital infrastructure, which must be considered the central nervous system of national governance and digital economy and digital society. Choosing technology, do not follow cheap, outdated solutions, but be determined to take shortcuts, access advanced technology, and participate deeply in the global value chain, he said.
