Seminar on press and human rights opens in Vinh city

(VOVworld) – Vietnam’s media agencies are developing rapidly, satisfying the people’s demands for information in all aspects of life while detecting and reporting on negative social issues.

Participants reached the consensus at a seminar on the press and human rights that was organized by the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in cooperation with Vinh University’s Faculty of Law in the central city of Vinh. Delegates discussed a number of topics at the event, including: Vietnam laws on press freedom, press freedom and the citizens’ rights to be informed, the press’ role in enforcing people’s rights to access information, information and the violation of rights to access information: issues addressed from the perspectives of journalists, human rights and press freedom in the international integration period, and the press and its role in protecting citizens’ rights. The event aims to attract the attention of scholars, researchers, lecturers, and people working in the media sector at all levels to contribute research articles to promote public awareness on human rights and mechanisms to protect these rights.
