(VOVworld) – Senior Lieutenant General Vo Van Tuan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, has spoken highly of the strategic partnership relations between Vietnam and the UK including defense relations.

At a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for British Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever, Mr. Tuan said over the years the bilateral defense relations have been enhanced and both countries are realizing the memorandum on the bilateral defense cooperation.

Mr. Tuan said he hopes in the future the UK will continue to help Vietnam in peace-keeping force building, defense industry, and English training.

Ambassador Lever agreed with Mr. Tuan’s proposals, adding that the UK always attaches importance to cooperation with Vietnam including defense relations.

Mr. Lever called on both countries to further bolster the bilateral relations in line with the signed memorandum to contribute to the regional and global stability.
