Senior Party official meets Canadian, French ambassadors

(VOVWORLD) - Head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh hosted a reception for Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Ping Kitnikone in Hanoi on Monday.

He affirmed the Communist Party of Vietnam’s consistent policy of developing a socialist-oriented market economy and highlighted Vietnam’s determination to continue reforming policies to attract investments by creating a more favourable environment for investors. The Canadian ambassador vowed to continue promoting partnership between the two countries in trade and investment to increase two-way trade. Canada will also continue providing ODA to Vietnam for climate change mitigation and food safety, she added.

At a meeting with French Ambassador to Vietnam Bertrand Lortholary the same day, Binh said Vietnam treasures its ties with France. He said he believes the partnership will continue to strengthen, especially in trade and investment. Mr. Lortholary said that France will continue fostering its partnership with Vietnam in agriculture, infrastructure building, the environment, health care, aviation, and banking.
