(VOVworld) – Russia’s western partners have acknowledged the importance of uniting international efforts in the fight against terrorism, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in a text interview with “Russia Today” news agency on Sunday. He reiterated Russia’s idea of creating an alliance to fight terrorism in accordance with international law and under UN auspices, adding that Russia will speed up the drafting of a UN Security Council resolution on fighting the Islamic State and other terrorist groups in Iraq and Syria, which will be prepared by Russia and completed by both the US and Russia.
