South Korean President sees obstacles ahead to disarm peninsula

(VOVWORLD) - South Korea still faces many obstacles in its efforts to establish lasting peace on the Korean peninsula despite the North’s concessions, President Moon Jae-in said on Thursday.

President Moon said the trip by the South’s delegation of special envoys to Pyongyang marked a big step towards denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. He added the achievements were made not just by the two Koreas but also the America’s strong support. He said peace and prosperity on the peninsula will be decided by its locals, with support from the US and the international community and through dialogues.
