(VOV) – President Truong Tan Sang and National Assembly deputies on Monday met with voters in district1, Ho Chi Minh City to report back to them on the outcomes of the just-concluded 3rd session of the National Assembly. At the meeting, the majority of voters praised the body for approving certain major laws in line with national development. They proposed that the Government further supports a boost in production and improves people’s living standards. President Sang acknowledged voters’ opinions on cabinet members’ responsibilities, saying the votes of confidence for the posts elected by the party and the people will be carried out more effectively in the future. He also mentioned the need to remove obstacles to businesses and restructure the economy: “It’s urgent we deal with the problems caused by production stagnation, stockpiles of goods, corporate bankruptcy and bad debts. Time needs to be spent on restructuring the economy to prevent inflation and a surplus of import.”

Later the same day, President Truong Tan Sang met with voters in district3 in Ho Chi Minh city. Meanwhile, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung and the deputies representing Ha Tinh province met with voters in the mountainous district of Vu Quang in Ha Tinh province. The voters put forward detailed measures and priorities for remote and mountainous regions to reduce poverty rates there. National Assembly Chairman Hung said that this year the Government has made an all out effort to curb inflation to single digit, stabilize macro-economy and ensure social welfare. He also informed voters of the government plans for restructuring the economy, including state corporations and commercial banks.
