He said the world admires ASEAN for its unity in diversity, resilience, role as a growth center, commitment to inclusive development, and people-centered approach, where the people are viewed as the center, subject, resource, and driving force of development.
The Prime Minister emphasized that ASEAN must continue to uphold its centrality, position its role within the global context, and, based on its own realities, define clear directions, shared visions, and coordinated actions among member economies.
He outlined priorities for ASEAN moving forward, including strengthening supply chain connectivity, enhance resilience by supporting mutual market access to mitigate disadvantages caused by external tariff policies, fostering exchanges and institutional ties among member economies, improving both hard and soft infrastructure in culture, society, transport, and digital transformation, and developing a high-quality workforce capable of adapting to emerging challenges.
ABIS 2025, part of the 47th ASEAN Summit and related meetings, brought together more than 1,500 participants, including ASEAN leaders, CEOs of major corporations, and international economists. The dialogue focused on the private sector’s innovation to drive policy reform and elevate ASEAN’s role in the global economy.
