This is Assa Abloy’s second project in Vietnam, following a 25 million USD factory in Vinh Phuc province.

“We will continue to take the lead in our science-based target initiative. This factory will play a key role in helping us to continue to drive down our carbon footprint in line with our commitment. This means constantly investing and upgrading our equipment and facility to help us reach 50% carbon footprint reduction by 2023 and to be carbon neutral by 2050 as a group,” Martin Poxton, Executive Vice President and Head of Asa Abloy’s Asia Pacific business unit said.

The Hai Phong plant has an annual output of two million door closers, which will be exported to Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the United States.  

Hai Phong has so far attracted 40 billion USD in FDI capital and is one of the top destinations for FDI in Vietnam. The city plans to develop a new economic zone in its southern area in 2025 with a focus on green development.
