(VOVWORLD) - Bai Dinh pagoda in Ninh Binh Province on Sunday hosted the 2025 Vu Lan Festival under the theme “Vu Lan Gratitude-80 Years of Independence”, attracting about 5,000 Buddhists and visitors from across the country.
Vu Lan, also known as the festival of filial piety, is a time for Vietnamese people to honor their parents, teachers, friends, compatriots, and the Fatherland.
The Vu Lan Festival is a major Buddhist event held annually on the 15th day of the 7th lunar month.
This year’s celebration took on added significance as it coincided with nationwide commemorations of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day.
As part of the event, organizers presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mothers and elderly people without family support in Tay Hoa Lu Ward, Ninh Binh.
