Trump, Putin unlikely to meet in Paris

(VOVWORLD) - US President Donald Trump said on Monday he was unsure if he would meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a visit to Paris this week, but will meet with him at the G20 gathering of world leaders in Argentina later this month.

White House national security adviser John Bolton  said earlier that President Trump would meet with Putin this week while Putin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov said both leaders are expected to have a “brief” meeting on the sidelines of the Armistice Day 100th anniversary.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told RIA news agency that Putin and Trump were bound to meet, but will not hold “substantive” talks because the multilateral format of events to commemorate the centenary of World War One would be an unsuitable occasion for such talks.
