In his first comments about the US nuclear arsenal since taking office last month, Trump said he would like to see a world with no nuclear weapons but expressed concern that the United States has "fallen behind on nuclear weapon capacity." According to the Ploughshares Fund, an anti-nuclear group, Russia has 7,300 warheads and the United States, nearly 7,000. President Trump called the new strategic arms limitation treaty, known as New START, as a one-sided deal.
Earlier, in the first telephone talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Trump called START a bad deal for the US which only benefits Russia.
