Turkey bans all Syrian civilian flights

Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said yesterday that Turkey has barred its air space to Syrian civilian flights. Turkey said the decision was made because the Syrian regime was abusing civilian flights to transport military equipment.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu held separate talks with Nabil El Arabi, the Arab League Secretary General about the latest developments on the border between Turkey and Syria where five Turks were killed by Syrian shelling on October 3. Ahmet Davutoglu added that his country will respond with greater force if Syria violates its border again.
