TV show tells emotional stories of witnesses on national reunification

(VOVWORLD) -An art and political exchange program called “Peace epic” was held on Sunday evening at three locations of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Buon Ma Thuot City on the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30).

The television show delivered elaborate content and performances by famous singers and artists. Through the emotional stories of witnesses, viewers relived the heroic memories of the historic Ho Chi Minh campaign that unified the country 50 years ago.

Witnesses in the 1975 Spring General Offensive and Uprising include Lieutenant General Doan Sinh Huong, Hero of the People's Armed Forces; battlefield journalist Tran Mai Huong, former President of Vietnam News Agency; and Colonel Tu De, pilot of the Quyet Thang Squadron and Hero of the People's Armed Forces.

Joining in the TV link at Buon Ma Thuot, Lieutenant General Doan Sinh Huong said, "I am very proud that I fought in such important battles with my comrades in arms and accomplished the mission. After 50 years, I return here, our country has changed, Buon Ma Thuot is different now, that is a source of pride."
