UN recognizes Vietnam as trusted partner with growing global contributions
(VOVWORLD) - UN Secretary-General António Guterres has extended his best wishes to the Vietnamese leaders and people on the occasion of the new lunar year, the Year of the Snake.

During a working session in New York on Thursday with Ambassador Dang Hoang Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, the UN Chief also expressed his desire to visit Vietnam again and congratulated the country on its remarkable socio-economic achievements in 2024.
He praised Vietnam as a responsible UN member and a trusted partner with an increasingly important role in and growing global contributions to the international community.
Ambassador Giang reiterated Vietnam’s commitment to make more effective and substantive contributions to UN activities.
As 2025 marks 80 years of Vietnam’s independence and the UN’s 80th anniversary, both Guterres and Giang reaffirmed the commitment to strengthening cooperation and working together to promote peace, security, and sustainable development, and to resolve global challenges.
