(VOVWORLD) - Vietnam and India aim to reach 20 billion USD in two-way trade in the near future by implementing strong measures to further open markets, strengthen cooperation in various fields, and promote cultural and tourism exchanges.

During a visit to India, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai met with Speaker of the Indian Lok Sabha (Lower House) Om Birla, where they discussed and agreed to expand bilateral cooperation across key areas, including politics, defense and security, economy, trade and investment, agriculture, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.
Mr. Hai called on major Indian corporations to invest in Vietnam, particularly in strategic infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and high technology. The two sides also agreed to enhance cooperation between their legislative bodies, exchange experiences in developing digital parliaments, and leverage technology to improve parliamentary efficiency.
On the same day, the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation visited and worked with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. They laid flowers at the statue of President Hồ Chí Minh at G20 Park in New Delhi.
