Plumbly said that holding presidential elections on the basis of constitutional deadline and democratic practice was vital to Lebanon’s stability after a meeting with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri.
An Arab diplomatic source said that although Lebanese parties did not want to create a vacuum of power, their talks to choose presidential candidates had still come at a standstill, and it was not likely that presidential elections will be held before May 25.
