US-Iran nuclear negotiations progress

(VOVWORLD) - Both the US and Iran have reported progress after the second round of nuclear talks on Saturday in Rome, Italy.

A senior US official quoted by Israeli media said the 4-hour meeting had achieved very good progress and confirmed follow-up talks in Oman for next week.
According to the Iranian media, the negotiations between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and US Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff were conducted in a constructive and open atmosphere.
On the same day, the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it is acting as a mediator in the nuclear negotiations between the US and Iran in Rome, Italy, adding both sides have agreed to move into the next phase of negotiations to reach a fair agreement.
