President Trump told the press that Washington could deploy additional troops if Poland requested them.

Earlier, senior officials in the Trump administration warned that US troops might be withdrawn from Europe, potentially unsettling transatlantic security arrangements.

There are currently 8,000 US soldiers stationed in Poland, one of the US’s closest European allies historically. Poland is NATO’s biggest defense spender relative to GDP, with its 2025 defense budget reaching 4.7%.
