(VOVworld) – The US military, in cooperation with its Saudi Arabian and United Arab Emirates allies begun on Wednesday new airstrikes targeting 12 sites of the Islamic State (IS) in Syria, including an oil refinery. A Pentagon statement said that this was the alliance’s first airstrike targeting IS oil facilities in eastern Syria to cut off the group’s major  source of income. Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm John Kirby said the alliance had destroyed 8 military vehicles during these new airstrikes.
