VAVA protests China’s violation of Vietnam’s maritime sovereignty
(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Association for Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims (VAVA) on Saturday issued a statement to protest China’s illegal of an oil rig in Vietnam’s continental shelf and exclusive economic zone. The statement says that the association agreed with the viewpoints of the Vietnamese state, demonstrated in Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung’s speech at the 24th ASEAN Summit in Myanmar. It supports Vietnamese marine police and fisheries surveillance forces and fishermen in their efforts to defend national sovereignty. The statement calls on war victims and individuals and organizations around the world to support Vietnam in its struggle to protect peace, justice and equality.
