(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Farmers' Association opened its 5th executive committee session in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Association President Nguyen Quoc Cuong reviewed the implementation of the Party Secretariat’s conclusion and the Prime Minister’s decision to improve the association’s role and responsibilities in agricultural and new rural development until 2020. Cuong noted that farmers associations across the country have helped to improve social awareness of the Party and state policies on agriculture, farmers, and rural areas.
Cuong said: “the Party Secretariat’s conclusion and the Prime Minister’s decision are the two key legal documents to tap the role of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association in agriculture, farmers, and rural areas. This is a condition for the Association to renovate its communications, and support farmers in boosting agricultural development and building new rural areas.”
