(VOVworld)- Vietnam always attaches importance to enhancing friendship and multilateral cooperation with Belgium, one of Vietnam’s EU important partners. Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan made the remarks while receiving Belgium’s Prince Philippe in Hanoi today/Monday. During talks, the two sides agreed on delegation exchanges at all levels, further cooperation on international and multi-faceted forums, especially the UN and within the framework of ASEM, and ASEAN-EU cooperation. They also reached consensus a number of other issues including promoting ties among regions and localities of the two countries, facilitating businesses from both sides to seek partners and investment opportunities, increasing exchanges of students, and cooperation among universities of Vietnam and Belgium. The two leaders pledged to continue implementing projects within the framework of Vietnam-Belgium oriented cooperation program period 2011-2015, with a focus given to education and training, water resources management, irrigation, and waste treatment.

After the talks, both sides witnessed the signing of 4 cooperative agreements including a Protocol to amend the Double Tax Avoidance Treaty, and a Memorandum of Understanding between the two Finance Ministries.    

Others
