Vietnam, ADB cooperate for mutual growth

(VOVworld) - Nguyen Van Binh, Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), met with the newly-appointed Asian Development Bank (ADB) Country Director in Vietnam, Eric Sidgwick, in Hanoi yesterday. Sidgwick spoke highly of the Vietnamese Government and the SBV’s policies to stabilise the macro-economy and boost economic growth.

He pledged to further strengthen ADB’s potential in the country, including financial resources, policy consultancy, and technical assistance.
The Vietnamese Governor said that the Vietnamese Government and the SBV attach importance to developing comprehensive relations with ADB. He said he hopes that the ADB will continue providing policy consultancy, and technical assistance to Vietnam.
The two sides agreed to collaborate closely to efficiently use the annual 1.2 billion USD in ADB funding from 2016 to 2018.
