During a panel discussion on “Institutional frameworks and policy planning”, Mr. Dong said policy innovation and integration pose challenges and opportunities to all UN members, particularly lower-middle-income countries like Vietnam.

Vietnam has been developing a plan to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) that suits its socio-economic development plan for 2016-2020. Vietnam highlights the role of private and state-owned enterprises and works to enhance their effectiveness. Mr. Dong shared Vietnam’s experience in reducing poverty, building e-government, improving a social security system, and ensuring workers’ benefits.
