Vietnam begins testing COVID-19 vaccine on mice
(VOVWORLD) -A group of Vietnamese and British scientists have begun first-phase testing of a vaccine on mice at a lab of the Company for Vaccine and Biological Production No.1 (VABIOTECH).
Test results are due in the next 2-3 weeks to assess the ability to produce antibodies against the novel coronavirus and vaccine’s safety. Successful tests on animals will be followed by tests on humans.
The project is jointly conducted by scientists of VABIOTECH under the Vietnamese Ministry of Health and the UK’s Bristol University.
70-80 vaccine developers have tested coronavirus vaccine on mice and 8 trials have been carried out on both animals and humans in the world.
