(VOVworld) – The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Nguyen Thien Nhan, said Vietnam always attaches great importance to developing its strategic partnership with Britain.

The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Nguyen Thien Nhan, received Eleanor Laing, Deputy Speaker of the British House of Commons.

At a reception for Eleanor Laing, Deputy Speaker of the British House of Commons on Monday in Hanoi, Mr. Nhan expressed his hope that the two countries will promote investment and that British enterprises will increase their operations in Vietnam in areas such as education, finance, banking, infrastructure, insurance, science and technology, and aviation. Mr. Nhan also spoke highly of the two countries’ cooperation at international forums, hoping that Vietnam and Britain will continue to work together at the UN, ASEAN, EU, and cooperate with each other on such global issues as climate change and rising sea levels. He also called for joint efforts to assure security and peace in the East Sea.
