Vietnam, Cambodia urged to raise bilateral trade to 5 billion USD

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged Vietnam and Cambodia to exert greater efforts to raise bilateral trade to 5 billion USD.

At a reception for President of the Cambodian National Assembly Samdech Heng Samrin in Hanoi on Saturday, Mr. Phuc highlighted the 50-year Vietnam-Cambodia friendship as a priceless asset that the two peoples, especially younger generations, should nurture and promote. In the past 50 years, the Vietnamese and Cambodian people were united and ready to sacrifice their lives for each other, Mr. Phuc said. He asked the two countries to strengthen their solidarity, friendship, economic cooperation, and people-to-people diplomacy.

National Assembly President Samdech Heng Samrin praised the flourishing relationship, friendly neighborliness, and all-round cooperation between the 2 countries in the past decades. He added that Cambodia is grateful for Vietnam’s valuable assistance to its national liberation and development.
