(VOVworld) - A delegation from the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO) paid a working visit to China over the past 4 days at the invitation of President of the China Association for International Friendly Contact Li Zhaoxing to seek ways to strengthen people-to-people diplomacy.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed on measures to intensify friendship and mutual understanding between the two peoples. Delegation head Don Tuan Phong, who is VUFO Vice President and Secretary General, said that on the basis of common views reached by the two countries’ high-ranking leaders, the VUFO will continue working closely with Chinese partners to promote people-to-people diplomacy. The Vietnamese delegation also held talks with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, during which the two sides discussed plans to co-organize activities in 2014-2015. In addition, the delegation had working sessions with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Commerce to discuss the Vietnam-China Friendship Palace project.
