(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam welcomes Chinese enterprises to expand cooperation and investment and Chinese tourists to visit Vietnam, Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh said at a forum on Sunday in Beijing.

“Vietnam encourages Chinese enterprises to expand cooperation and increase investment in areas where China has strengths and Vietnam has high demand and priority. They are innovation, green growth, digital transformation, renewable energy, clean energy, smart cities, high-quality manufacturing industry, construction of road and railway infrastructure, and education," Mr. Binh said.
"Vietnam always welcomes Chinese tourists to visit Vietnam to experience the beautiful nature, unique and long-standing historical and cultural traditions, friendly and hospitable people, and a highly secure environment.”
Ambassador Binh said that in the first 8 months of this year, two-way trade reached 160 billion USD, an increase of 22% over 2024. Chinese tourists to Vietnam last year totaled 3.7 million, a sharp increase of 214%, and in the first 8 months of 2025, it reached 3.5 million.

At the forum, Secretary General of the China-ASEAN Center Shi Zhongjun, said China-Vietnam cooperation plays an important role as a model and promoter in bilateral cooperation. Economic, trade and investment cooperation between the two countries has thrived. Since 2004, China has been Vietnam's largest trading partner for 20 consecutive years, while Vietnam has been China's largest trading partner in ASEAN for 8 consecutive years since 2016.
“Cooperation between China and Vietnam has a deep historical tradition and a need for shared interests in practice. Win-win cooperation between the two sides has a broad prospect,” Mr. Shi said.

This tourism and investment promotion forum aims to contribute to building a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future. It was jointly organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in China, the China-ASEAN Center and the China Import-Export Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Mechanical and Electrical Products.
