During the talks held after the welcome ceremony, the two top legislators highlighted that the relationship between the two Parties and States has continuously been strengthened and expanded, achieving significant achievements in various fields.
In the context of globalisation and political and economic fluctuations, both leaders emphasised that only through unity and close cooperation can both nations overcome challenges. They agreed that bilateral cooperation will not only bring economic benefits but also contribute to promoting prosperity in Southeast Asia and elevating the international positions of both countries.
Acknowledging the fruitful development of parliamentary cooperation, both bilaterally and multilaterally, they agreed to continue working closely together to further enhance this collaboration.
The two sides agreed to continue to exchange experience in areas of mutual interest, especially in building institutional and legal systems, supreme supervision, and making decisions on key national issues.
They will further promote the role of the legislative bodies in promoting the bilateral relations; supervise and urge ministries, agencies, localities and enterprises to actively and effectively implement signed treaties and agreements; continue to closely coordinate and support each other at multilateral forums and inter-parliamentary forums in which both sides are members.
According to the two top legislators, the two legislatures should pay attention to and promulgate policies and laws to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises and investors as well as people of Vietnamese origin to live stably and do business smoothly in the country, contributing to the growth of the bilateral relations as well as the socio-economic development of Cambodia.
On behalf of the Vietnamese National Assembly, Chairman Tran Thanh Man extended an invitation to National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary to participate in the Parliamentary Forum on Francophone Cooperation in Sustainable Agriculture, Food Security, and Climate Change Response, scheduled to take place in Can Tho City in January 2025.
Earlier that day, Chairman Tran Thanh Man laid wreaths at the Independence Monument, the Monument of the late King Norodom Sihanouk, and the Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Monument.
