(VOVworld) – Vietnam Cultural Days in the US opened on Saturday at the Terrace Theatre in the Kennedy Centre. The event held by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnamese embassy in the US was to mark the 20^th anniversary of the normalization of Vietnam-US ties.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh said the opening ceremony.

Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh said the event will introduce unique cultural values and art performances featuring a beautiful Vietnam with 21 heritages recognized by UNESCO as tangible and intangible cultural heritages of humanity and friendly and hospitable people.  Mara Tekach, deputy assistant to the US Secretary of State said Vietnam and US have seen much achievements in their relations since the two countries established diplomatic ties 20 years ago. She said the Vietnamese community in the US plays an important role in promoting people-to-people exchanges and mutual understanding.
