Vietnam exports first batch of star apples to US
(VOVWORLD) - The first Vietnamese batch of star apples has been exported to the US by the Cat Tuong Agricultural Products Producing & Processing Company. The event was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Tien Giang provincial People’s Committee at a ceremony on Tuesday in My Tho city.

Following a decade of negotiations, Vietnam received a license in September, becoming the first and only country allowed to sell fresh star apples to the US. Lo Ren Vinh Kim star apples of Tien Giang province need to meet strict requirements of cultivation, packaging, and quarantine to enter the US market.
Lo Ren Vinh Kim star apples were certified under the Global GAP standard in 2008.
