Vietnam finishes second at International Mathematics and Science Olympiad

(VOVWORLD) - All 24 students of the Vietnamese team from public and non-public primary and secondary schools in Hanoi won medals of the 21st International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) in China.

They won the Best Exploration Champion trophy and the Best Theoretical Champion trophy, together with nine golds, 14 silvers, and one bronze to finish second in the overall medal table.

This is the highest result that Vietnamese students have achieved since their first competition at the IMSO in 2014.

The 21st IMSO took place in Wenzhou, China from October 1 – 6, involving 300 contestants from 18 countries and territories.

This year's competition resumed the in-person format after three years of online events. The IMSO is a prestigious worldwide academic competition for students under age 13.
