For those entering the country for diplomatic purposes or  being business managers, experts and high-skilled workers, Vietnamese authorities will decide whether it's necessary to issue visas for them, according to the Prime Minister’s directive issued Saturday night.

Even when they do enter the country, they must fulfill health declarations and follow 14-day quarantine procedures.

As of Sunday afternoon, Vietnam had recorded 99 Covid-19 infections including 17 having been discharged from hospital.

Most of the active cases are returnees from Europe and the US and people who had come into close contact with them.

Overseas Vietnamese have been asked to restrict their return home at the moment.
