Ha Giang Province aims to boost agriculture exports

(VOVWORLD) - Under its import-export strategy through 2030, Ha Giang Province has over the past years improved the quality of local products meeting the criteria of several foreign markets. Ha Giang is one of Vietnam’s key tea growing areas which covers more than 20,000 hectare.
Famous tea brands include 100-year old Shan Tuyet tea which is grown in Vi Xuyen, Hoang Su Phi and Dong Van Districts. The province has zoned tea growing areas to develop production chains for organic tea in a sustainable manner.

In addition to the domestic market, the local Shan Tuyet tea has been exported to more than 20 countries in Asia, Europe and America with various products such as black tea, green tea, yellow tea, and Pho Nhi tea.

Radish has emerged as one the province’s potential export items. In 2024, Xin Man District coordinated with the MISAKI Vietnam Company to ship pickled radishes to Japan. Xin Man has up to 40 hectares growing radishes and a processing factory which exports over 2,000 tons of pickled radish to Japan and earns 3,000 to 4,700 USD per hectare per crop.

The District is aiming for further cooperation with MISAKI Vietnam to export other products such as cucumber, ginger, and bamboo shoots to Japan and some other international markets.
