“Vietnam in international community” workshop in Russia

(VOV) – A workshop on Vietnam in the international community took place on Monday in the Far East Division of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Vietnamese ambassador to Russia Pham Xuan Son delivered a speech on Vietnam’s foreign policy in line with the resolution of the 11th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The speech touched upon targets, tasks and orientations of Vietnam’s diplomacy, diplomatic achievements in the renewal process, and Vietnam-Russia relations today. Head of the Asia Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Igor Khovaev said the seminar is a significant channel for building foreign policy with Vietnam and boosting mutual understanding. Khovaev talked about current Vietnam-Russia relations: "In Russia’s new foreign relations theory, President Putin continues to affirm a consistent policy toward Vietnam. Russia’s Foreign Ministry is implementing the State’s political policies on relations with Vietnam and cooperative agreements on a number of important issues  reached by the two countries. In recent years, the two countries have seen progress in their relations and increasing status in the international arena".
