(VOVWORLD) - International experts have highlighted Vietnam’s strategies on accelerating digital transformation and developing a digital economy, a digital society, and a digital government.

During Vietnam International Digital Week, which opened in Hanoi on Tuesday with the theme of “Global Partnership for a digital future”, experts spoke highly of Vietnam’s initiative on establishing an ASEAN group for preventing fake news. They agreed to further strengthen ASEAN cooperation in minimizing impacts of fake news.
Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications, said: In the digital world, we are closer to each other and understand each other better. A new living space, a new living environment requires new rules, new principles, and requires us to learn from one another. That’s why Vietnam International Digital Week is themed ‘Global Partnership for a digital future’."
"Held for the first time in Vietnam, this event is expected to become an annual event of ASEAN, where we will discuss digital transformation, digital mechanisms, digital infrastructure, digital technology, digital platform, digital application, digital human resource, digital safety, and digital cooperation," said Mr. Hung.
Vietnam International Digital Week, to run until Friday, will feature a series of activities, including the ASEAN conference on 5G, other conferences on digital transformation in industry and smart production, and a forum themed “Why Vietnam 2022” that will look into the digital economy in Vietnam.
