Vietnam is an attractive destination for Japanese investors, says JBIC Governor

(VOVWORLD) -Vietnam is an attractive investment destination for Japanese businesses and number 1 priority partner of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), JBIC Governor Hayashi Nobumitsu said on Wednesday and pledged close cooperation with Vietnam.

On Wednesday in Hanoi, he met Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, who shared Vietnam's priority on attracting resources for sustainable growth, especially in innovation and science-technology, diversification of supply chains, climate change adaptation, green growth, digital transformation, equipment manufacturing industry related to renewable energy conversion.

The Prime Minister asked JBIC to support Vietnam in policy consultation and finance, including a preferential mechanism for Vietnamese businesses as well as Japanese investors to borrow at preferential interest rates to invest in the prioritized areas.

The JBIC Governor applauded Vietnam's ability to maintain macroeconomic stability amid global uncertainty, especially stabilizing petrol prices, maintaining growth momentum, and having a potential consumption market.
