Vietnam is Poland’s top partner in Southeast Asia

(VOVWORLD) - Poland respects and wants to strengthen relations with Vietnam, its top partner in Southeast Asia, said Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau.

During his talks with Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son in Hanoi on Thursday, the Polish Foreign Minister, who is on an official visit to Vietnam, said he wants the two countries to strengthen cooperation in IT, smart city, green technology, and environmental protection.

Minister Son asked the Foreign Minister to facilitate Vietnamese agro-forestry products to enter Poland and encouraged the country to increase investment in pharmacy production, livestock production, food processing, manufacturing, and mining in Vietnam. Son urged Poland to ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement and ask the EC to remove its yellow card on Vietnamese fisheries.

The two sides agreed to work closely and support each other at international forums. They will promote cooperation in education, training, agriculture, natural resources and environment, culture, tourism, health care, IT and labor.

On the occasion, they signed a cooperation agreement between the Vietnam Diplomacy Academy and the Poland Diplomacy Academy.
