Vietnam People’s Navy celebrate 58th anniversary

(VOVworld) – The High Command of the Vietnam People’s Navy (VPN) celebrated its 58th founding anniversary on May 7th, an occasion for naval officers and soldiers to recount the glorious tradition of their predecessors who built and developed the force. Addressing a ceremony held on Song Tu Tay island in the Truong Sa island district, Rear Admiral Dinh Gia That, Political Commissar of the VPN, said that defending national sovereignty over sea, islands, and the continental shelf is an honorable responsibility of the entire political system and nation, in which the VPN plays a crucial role. The force was urged to work harder to modernize its equipment and enhance its capability to defend national sovereignty and maintain peace, stability, and friendship with neighboring countries.
